MCP SERVER

Bring your own AI app to Outpost

Connect Claude or any other MCP client to your Outpost. It looks up endpoints, works tickets, and runs commands as you, with your permissions and your approval.

The Model Context Protocol (MCP) is an open standard that lets an AI app call tools another system provides. Every Outpost serves an MCP server at its own address, so the AI app your team already uses can work in your fleet.

CONNECT IN A MINUTE

One URL.
One sign-in.

Your Outpost serves MCP at your console address followed by /mcp. The AI connections page shows the exact URL and the setup for each app.

  • Claude Code: copy one command from the console and run it
  • Claude.ai: add a custom connector with your server URL
  • Any other MCP client: paste the configuration the console shows
  • Sign-in uses OAuth 2.1 in your browser, so the app never sees your password
  • Approving a connection asks for your authenticator app or passkey

WHAT IT CAN DO

Your console, as tools.

A connected app gets tools for the everyday work of IT support, and can reach any other console operation your role allows.

  • Find endpoints, read inventory and installed software, and wake or act on an endpoint
  • Run commands and scripts, and open up to three shells at a time
  • List and acknowledge alerts
  • Find, create, update, and merge tickets, log time, and see your day’s appointments
  • Scan for, approve, and apply patches, and deploy software from the catalog
  • Search documentation and read knowledge base articles
  • Read network maps, trace a path, and check diagrams for drift
  • Use your team’s saved Pioneer AI prompts, which appear as prompts in the app

GUARDRAILS

Your permissions.
Your approval.
Your record.

  • A connected app acts as you, and can do what your roles allow and nothing more
  • Lookups and routine changes run on their own. Every high-risk call waits for your approval
  • An approval works once, for exactly the request shown, and expires after 10 minutes
  • Never allowed: revealing secrets, playing recordings, exports, billing changes, and sign-in settings
  • Every call is logged, including refused ones, and every change appears in the audit log
  • Rate limits for each connection and each person

STAY IN CONTROL

Connections you can see and end.

MCP sends nothing to a model provider from your Outpost. The app you connect decides where its conversation goes, under its own terms.

  • Available on every plan
  • See every connected app and every call on Settings, and disconnect any of them at once
  • Turn AI tools off for the organization, and every app stops at its next call
  • On the MSP plan, a client with AI access turned off is out of reach
  • A connection ends after 30 days unused, and after 90 days in any case

SENSITIVE ENVIRONMENTS

Off means off.

Some organizations need to show that their data never reaches an AI model. With AI tools turned off, no app can connect, and nothing from your Outpost reaches one.

  • Turn off Allow AI tools to connect, and every connected app stops at its next call
  • On the MSP plan, a client with AI turned off is left out of every list and refused by name
  • Turning AI off for every client turns AI tools off too
  • Compliance baselines such as HIPAA, PCI DSS, and CJIS leave AI to you, so the decision stays with the people who answer for your data
  • Secrets, recovery keys, and session recordings are never returned to an app, even with AI tools on
  • Every change to these settings is recorded in the audit log
